"music needs a good kick up the arse" is the general ethos behind the phenomenon that is PEST, a band consisting of a jazz guitarist, a hardy trombone player, a bass cellist, a keyboard player and a drummer. Together they create the sort of sound that is reminiscent of george benson being strangled by a rampant anaconda; A truly original sound, the way music should sound. Pest have toured europe extensively as a headline act and also supporting artists such as nitin sawhey, soweto kinch, dj food and roni size to name but a few. With two albums on ninja tune already, Pest are currently working on new material for an upcoming third album which frankly, is taking ages, but this time, they want to nail it. Live, Pest blast a hole that can only be filled with their unique, genre-defying and booty-shaking sonics. A squarely dancefloor-driven mix of underground electronica, jazz and funk; to name but a few elements tossed into the mix. It really does have to be seen to be believed!
